TRANSAFRIK International Limited is an offshore company registered in Jersey, Channel Island, United Kingdom since 1984 as a cargo airline company. Since 1984 up to this year, Transafrik is operating mainly in Africa and just recently in the Middle East and the Gulf Region. We operate under an Air Operating Certificate (AOC) issued by the Director of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Uganda where all our aircraft is registered.
Our administration, finance and accounting office is now located in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, same as our operations office. Our maintenance base, including engine shop, brake shop and maintenance control are still based in Entebbe, Uganda while our main storage of parts is still situated in Nairobi, Kenya. We are, however, planning to move it to Fujairah, UAE as well in the very near future.
During the last 22 years TRANSAFRIK has operated essentially for WFP-UN World Food Program, United Nations (UNAVEM, MONUC, UNMIS), UNHCR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNICEF, Caritas, International Committee of the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations. Since 2007, we started a new contract with National Air Cargo in Dubai, UAE and in 2009, with Diplomat Freight Services, also in Dubai so we are not solely dependent on aid organizations and makes us more commercialize.
